Anthropic sells Claude in three tiers: Pro, Max 5× and Max 20×. All three give you Claude’s most capable models; the Max plans multiply how much you can use them in each session.
Pro: the standard plan
Claude Pro ($27 a month with us) includes Claude’s most capable models, Claude Code in your terminal, projects, research and web search. For writing, analysis and everyday coding help, it is the right starting point.
Max 5×: long sessions
Max 5× ($135) gives five times the Pro usage per session, higher output limits and priority access when demand peaks. It suits people who work with Claude for hours at a stretch: long documents, big refactors, research that runs all afternoon.
Max 20×: all-day use
Max 20× ($270) raises usage to twenty times Pro per session and adds early access to new features. It is the plan for developers who keep Claude Code running most of the day, or teams of one whose work depends on Claude.
A word on Claude Code
Claude Code is included from Pro. Agentic coding consumes usage much faster than chat, so if Claude Code is the main reason you subscribe, Max 5× is often the more comfortable choice.

- Claude Code runs for long stretches on large codebases.
- You paste long documents and work on them for hours.
- Peak-time slowdowns cost you real time: Max comes with priority access.

- Keep conversations focused. Every message re-reads the whole thread, so a fresh chat for a new topic saves usage.
- Use projects for the documents you keep coming back to, rather than pasting them again.
- Ask for exactly what you need: a shorter answer costs less than a long one you only skim.
