Cursor Pro vs Pro+ vs Ultra: which Cursor plan do you need?

Cursor sells three individual paid plans: Pro, Pro+ and Ultra. They open the same AI code editor. The difference is how much Agent work you get, which matters more each time you hand Cursor a bigger task.

What every plan includes

Every plan includes the Agent, unlimited Tab completions, frontier models, cloud agents, MCPs and hooks. Tab, the completion that predicts your next edit as you type, is unlimited everywhere; the Agent is what the higher tiers multiply.

Pro: the everyday plan

Cursor Pro ($27 a month with us) gives extended Agent limits and unlimited Tab. If you write most of your code yourself and ask the Agent for focused changes, refactors and tests, Pro is enough.

Pro+: three times the Agent

Pro+ ($81) triples the Agent limits of Pro. It suits developers who delegate most tasks to the Agent, run long agent sessions, or work on large codebases every day.

Ultra: twenty times the Agent

Ultra ($270) multiplies the Agent limits of Pro by twenty and adds priority access to new features. It makes sense when Cursor’s agents do most of the work, all day.

Signs you need a higher tier

• You reach the Agent limit before the end of the month, and it stops real work.
• You run long agent sessions, or several agents in parallel.
• You hand whole features to the Agent rather than single edits.

Making the Agent go further

• Be precise. A clear task with the right files in context goes further than an open-ended one.
• Use Tab for small edits. It is unlimited; the Agent isn’t.
• Start a new chat when the task changes, so the Agent doesn’t carry a long history.
